Clear Lake Final Results

Well folks, the fishing was way down from last year. I'm not sure as to why, it was very, very windy all day but I have had good success there even in heavy winds. The manager of M & M Campground failed to keep his promise of having all the lakeside spots saved for us even though I gave him a deposit back in March. We had to put some of the participants on the canal side which is not anywhere near as productive as the lakeside.

There were 15 participants, 10 members and 5 guests. Mary and I didn't participate due to the shortage of swims (fishing spots) thanks to M & M Campground's management. There were 17 carp caught during the event. Eight entrants blanked on carp but James Lancaster caught 17 and 22 lb channel catfish, both with strawberry flavored boilies (hard boiled doughballs) that he got from Paul Freeman.

Mary and I enjoyed meeting some new participants and also enjoyed seeing the gang from last year. We learned a few new tricks that will improve our catch rate in the future. I believe everyone had a great time whether or not they caught fish.
